Ihad a battery go bad. It's voltage was 12.42 with no load. Under annt load the voltage would very from 12.4 to 4.0 & all points inbetween, it alternate from on voltage to the other very rapdly. Truck would not start.
installed new battery & truck started & run aok.
but know I have the air bag light fllashing a code 52. I think this because of the low voltage it had with the bad battery. Was working ok before battery went bad.
how do I clear the code to make the air bag work?
thanks for any help

I can't remember how long it takes to turn off once it doesn't see the problem anymore, but basically you might want to visit a local mechanic to knock the light off (The code if I remember is for low voltage and requires a mechanic with a pro level scanner that can do multiple modules, not just PCM)

Old school mechanic. With a 97, you can try to reset everything by removing the positive side of the battery. With the terminal off the battery ground the positive side wire to the ground. This will remove any residual violtage in the system. After a couple of minutes then reconnect the battery. On that year vehicle the vehicle will have to be driven about 50 miles before the computer completes resetting itself. This does not have to be done all at once. After that time the computer will have reset. If any lights come on then that system will have to be checked.
