1994 Ford F-150 oil pressure

If the oil pump is out would the oil pressure stay low.
I just changed the oil and I drive it and the oil pressure goes down then comes back to normal

Remove the oil pressure switch-hook up a mechanical gauge fire it up and read off-if normal replace the switch its out of calibration- if its abnormal-could be the oil pump/engine bearing/sludge/oil galleries etc
