2003 Ford Explorer weird noises

I have a 03 ford explorer and I noticed when i accelerate i hear a noise in the what sounds like the rear end kinda siren type noise. When i let off gas and coast to a stop or brake to a stop it sound like a siren winding down any ideas thank you

Have you checked wheel bearings, pinion bearing and trans output shaft bearing?

I got the rear end rebuilt about 4 months ago so it shouldn't be that. How do you check wheel bearings or the trans outuput shaft.

Basically, you need to check for excessive play in the component.
