My 2000 Ford Explorer just the other day started up for me fine but when I went to shift it into Drive it did not move at all only revved up. I thought it was the transmission that went but now I'm confused because I heard when a transmission goes usually you can get at least one gear on it to work. This change came out of the blue really and I want to know why so I can bring it to the right place to get fixed. I heard it could be a converter or gearbox possibly? The cheaper the fix the better haha =]

When you have no gears at all this is a pressure issue in most all cases. There are times that the shifter is the issue but normally you can put it in manual 1 or 2 and get some gears.

So if you have no gears then that means we need to start with the causes of pressure issues. First is low or no fluid.

If the fluid is ok then we need to check the actual pressure because we have either a pump or a leak internally causing the pressure to no build.

If the pressure is ok but still no movement then that would point to a converter issue.

However, let's get the line pressure and go from there.

Please see the attached info and let me know what you find with this.

Thanks
