I found a piece of the timing chain guide inside my oil pan when I replaced the oil pan gasket. Should I be concerned that the timing chain will break and ruin my motor? There are no noises, rattles, or difference in the performance. I also have not idea how long it has been floating around the oil pan.The piece is about 1 1/2 inches long.[img:15635c3dc3]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/590410_P1020448_1.jpg[/img:15635c3dc3]

It should be replaced. It could cause other problems with the chain / components.
