'98 5.4 Expedition Octane

I've been thinking about running 89 octane in my '98 5.4L Ex.

Pros & cons?

Higher octane in my 98 f-150 5.4 has given me better gas mileage but only on highway trips, around town no diffence. If the engine runs withour pinging it is a waste of money IMO.
