If the light is staying on, the security system has shut down the vehicle. Try a different key. If that doesn't help, the only way to over ride the system is to turn the key on to the run position and let it on for about 10 minutes. The light should go out and it should start. To have the system repaired, it has to go to a dealer. They are the only ones with the equipment to properly diagnose the problem.
