2002 Ford Excursion Four Wheel Drive Automatic 76000 miles

i have to unhook battery everywhere i go because the daytime running lights wont turn off . no other lights are on.

Most likely, there is a short in the switch. I believe if you pull fuse 14 under the dash, it will shut them off for you until you identify the problem. Just read the owner's manual to make sure it is the right circuit that I mentioned and that you wont' affect other needed items.
