1997 Ford Escort Intermittent Stall

With no engine codes, it may be a little hard to find. I would check for a vacuum leak. How long has it been since you had a tune up? Some other things that could cause this are dirty throttle body, dirsty or malfunctioning fuel injector, incorrect fuel pressure, IAC valve, dirsty Mass Air Flow Sensor, and plenty of other things. you are just going to have to start eliminating things one by one.
