My first post here in this forum. First off I know the basics about cars and such but I'm not too machanically sound. I'm always willing to try and learn though. OK, I just purchased a '94 Ford Escort and it has developed a noise in the back end. It seems like a CV Joint but I'm not sure that front wheel drive cars have CV Joints in the back? They must have something similar to it? Basically it's a thumping sound coming from the back end as I'm going down the road. It gets faster as I go faster so it's definatley something with the wheels/axle. The thing that makes me thing CV Joint is that when I turn right it goes away until I'm going straight again. Can somebody please help me out?
