Hello,
The anti-lock brake system (ABS), is designed to prevent wheel lockup in the event of brake application. When the brakes are applied with a lot of force the wheel(s) can stop spinning immediately, or get locked up, this can adversely impact the vehicles direction of travel. With the ABS the brakes are prevented from locking up the wheels, this helps with directional stability and more consistent braking performance.
The ABS consists of a module, wheel speed sensors, hydraulic control unit.
I have attached diagrams for your reference.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
