My car takes 3.9 liters of MotorCraft Mercon ATF, which may solve shifting problem, it is probably dry and needs lubrication, i am going to try that today.

Second problem evidently caused by missing tube which feeds air through engine, old tube had a hole in it, not sure where to clamp replacement tube, it is about a foot long black tube that TuneUpMasters removed and I replaced...can you show me where in the manual i can find a photo or where on YouTube i can find a video that shows me how to clamp that tube? do yoiu know what tube i am talking about?

These are great photos, but they do not resemble my car!

I patched the short tube that had a hole in it, with tape, b/c i could not yank it off easily to replace it. Have a piece of tube now to replace old tube, but working fine with patch.

Until i patched this tube, had much worse mileage, engine constantly dying at stops and slow speeds and making noise like a lawnmower, all because of a little hole in a tube about 3" long.

It was pretty obvious which tube was damaged when i looked under the hood. I would encourage any car owner (particularly other women) to check all tubes for holes, it is an easy repair and can dramatically increase mileage (mine doubled from city driving to highway driving...have not tested in city yet...i am literally getting double the previous mileage i got before i repaired this one holy tube.
