2000 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
I bought last year 2009 a 2000 Ford escort at an auction.
Bad mistake. When went to get it inspected within6 months I dropped approx.$4,000 in it, new rack and pinion, starter, alternator, resurfacing rotors, tires, and the list goes on. June 30,2010.I take it took it to a new mechanic for inspection.$708.00. New front &back breaks, front back rotors, muffler(that was leaking)I might as well hold on to the car, I have practically built a new one.48hrs, after this $708, job. With the car having 109,000 miles, and the vehicle on 1/2 tank, my son over fills the gas tank.10min. Later service engine soon light comes on. My guess is the o2 sensor. The gas is way past the fuel marker. Could this be an 02 sensor because of 02, and gas?
Without having to go to a mechanic and charged 50-95 dollars. If it is the 02 sensor, how long till the light goes out?Do I let the car sit?Should I drive to get the gas to go down?
