I ´m on the freeway having ride just 5 mile from home and the car lost acceleration. I could pump on the gas, the engine was still on but it would just sound as if I was trying to accelerate it on neutral. I parked it in the right shoulder, poped the hood and went to check the oil level. I knew that it culd not be anything related to that, since I ´d checked on it to days prior to the inccident and yhe level was acceptable. The surprise was that there was virtually no oil in there. It was all on the floor, anderneath of the car a huge pudle of oil and, a llong drag behind of it. Right way I recalled of a friend of mine telling me that I would need to eventyually change a hose that was very dy. 2 months passed by and this hapened. Now I don ´t actually what ´s this hose name, where ´s it located and how to I can change it myself?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

I would be thinking that it will be an oil cooler hose, you will have to add oil and run the engine and locate the leak, it should be quite easy to see you should not have to drive just run nit in park and it should leak.

Thak you. That ´s what I thought it could be. But, just one thing concerns me. The fact that once I ´ve parked the car in the shoulder and turned off the engine it never started again. I ccould hear the starter noise< the battery click but there was no response from the engine. Do u still think that adding oil to the engine would be just enough to have it started?
Tnk u again.

HI there,

This will be either a battery or starter problem, if the starter is clicking(the solenoid is engaging) but the terminals the solenoid engage may be arcing and burnt, you may have to get the starter looked at as well, sounds like a tow to get it home.
