my escort ZX2. Will stall in neutral if I keep my foot on gas it will stay started but revs very high, & will die immediately after I let up on gas unless I have in gear & let out clutch. It will start right up although will die just as fast unless I give alot of gas.

Clean out the idle air control valve and also clean the MAF sensor with an electronic cleaner CRC and test the TPS sensor and see what happens

I disconnected the MAF & it will hold an idle like that, although very low, rough & erratic. But where is the idle air control valve & tps located?

Both are on the throttle body-you need a repair manual this problem can drag on w/o specifications -
