Engine Performance problem
1997 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 148k miles

my daughter's car starts fine and drives fine but while sitting at a stop light or slowing down to turn a corner it stalls. It starts again right away but stalls almost every single time she is stopped. Thank you.

Hi there!

It sounds like a fuel delivery issue. You did not mention if the check engine light is coming on. If it is, having the codes read will give you a good starting point. The sensors on the car send data to the computer so that it can adjust the fuel supply keep the engine running as efficiently as possible. Most parts stores will read the troublecodes for you for free.
If it the light is not coming on, I would recommend a diagnostic and or fuel pressure test for more information.
