Check engine light has been on for a while, but notices that at certain times it will actually blink. Went to Schucks and borrowed their diagnostic computer and got the code P0304 which turned out to be a cylinder 4 misfire. Is there any way to find out what EXACTLY the problem is without paying $130 for a dealership to look at my car, and tell me four or five things that could possibly be the problem.

Misfire on a specific cylinder should prompt you to check the sparkplug/compression and injector for that cylinder

Also Misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
