First off let me say I'm new to this website so dont get mad at me if this was posted somewhere else I tried to find something that fit the same problem but couldn't find a thread that had the same problem. Alright so this problem started about four days ago. I was driving to work when my car shut off at a stop light. I checked the dashboard to see if the lights were still on which they were. I put the car in park then started it and it started just fine when I put it in drive again it completely died once again. I tried it again but gave it a little gas this time and barely lugged my way to work. From there I had the car towed back to my place. Every time I try and start it now it'll usually start just fine but when I put it in drive it immediately dies unless I damn near floor the accelerator. I took out some of the gasoline to see if anything had leaked into it. There was quite a bit of water mixed in with the gasoline so I took out the rest of it and filled about a quarter of a tank in with gas and Heet I got from AutoZone. The car is STILL dieing when I put it in drive. Your help is very much appreciated!

Sounds like the torque converter is locked up allowing the transmission to stay engaged in gear.

Finally had it taken in, got it fixed apparently there was a lead cap on the battery which had corroded pretty badly. On top of that there was water in the spark plugs #7 and #8. $280 fix. Thanks for the help though guys.
