1999 Ford Contour 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

does this year contour have an "interference engine" my neighbor owns the car and her mechanic said it jumped time and ruined her engine I have some experience with this and just wondering if what he said is possible as he did not tear the engine down to verify diagnosis

Hi there,

My data base has no cautions re interference engine, so I would replace the belt, set the valve timing & do a comp test to prove the compressions are ok.
