Hello.
When I stop for gasoline, and the outside temperature is about 65 or above (later spring, summer), the pump nozzle will trip at even the slowest setting.
I can see that the gasoline is not going down the pipe very fast and is actually coming back up the pipe.
I have tried turning the nozzle upside-down, repositioning it, etc, all with the same result.
I can pump about 30 cents and the pump nozzle completely stops. Then I wait about 15 seconds for it to drain down, and pump another 30 cents or so. It takes forever to get even a half tank.
When the temperature is below 60-65, it will go in with no hesitation!
The car is old, and I don't want to make a major investment if at all possible. Any suggestions. Thanks. Joe

I would check the vent valve on the cansister filter. The vent valve can be changed. Also, check the vent valve line for blockage.

This car has problems with the vent valve. If the car has the evap system under the rear of car they go bad and they will not allow gas to be pumped into the tank There is an orifice in the vent line. I heard of drilling the orifice out, but I haven't done that myself.
