1990 Ford Bronco 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently had to replace what I was told was the transmission cable running from my accelerator pedal to my transmission because it was resting on the exhaust manifold which melted the outer coating exposing the wire which in turn caused my bronco to over rev dramatically at low speeds. I replaced it with a newer cable and it did well the first time out but then it started over revving at low speeds again and the cable is still in pristine condition can you help me?

Hello, look at the map sensor if it uses vaccume it should have a vacc hose on the left side of map, if it does use vacc hose chek it to see if hose is not bad, to soft mushy broken, dry. If it is change it. Also most possible is that your idle air control valve is bad. Idle control is a silver cylinder looking part with black tip connector and goes on throttle body cant miss it. Map sensor is on fire wall posible left side. Blak square with power connector and possible vaccume hose. For pics to see what it looks like go to kragen. Com thats what I tell every one lol. Good luck. By the way check all vacc hoses around tb. Good day
