I noticed with my car that my fog lights will only engage in the day, almost as if they are only functioning as DRL's. I still am not able to actually engage them on/off, but once I put the car in gear they will then automatically turn on.

Even though in the nighttime or when I have my headlights engaged, I will see the fog light symbol appear as if they were on, but they will not be. I would press the button to engage the fogs on/off, but nothing would happen, the symbol would just remain on. So, I'm not sure if it's a bad switch but everything else works with that button to control the lights, (for example bright, dim, etc.)

I hope I was able to explain as clearly as possible. Thanks for the assistance in advance.

Hi,

It could be a few things. However, first I need you to check the foglamp relay in the under-hood fuse box. If there is a different relay in the box with the same part number, switch them for testing. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how it's done:

I attached a pic below showing the wiring so that you have a reference.

Let me know what you find. Also, the schematic below is for traditional headlamps. If you have HID lamps, let me know.

Take care,

joe
