Hi,

The turn signals on this vehicle don't have a relay or a flasher. Ground is applied at all times to the turn signal/multifunction switch. The turn signal lamps may only be activated with the ignition switch in the On or Start positions. When the turn signal/multifunction switch is placed in either the Turn Right or Turn Left position, ground is applied to the body control module (BCM) through either the right turn or left turn signal switch signal circuit. The BCM responds to the turn signal switch input by applying a pulsating voltage to the front and rear turn signal lamps through their respective control circuits.

So, what is actually happening?

Let me know.

Joe

The only thing you can do is place a resistor at the lights. The LEDs require little power to turn on, so the system thinks you have a burnt-out bulb.

Because this is controlled by the BCM, you can't get a flasher designed for this. Instead, you will need to get a load resister for each bulb. To do this for an indicator (turn signal), it has to be wired into each LED light bulb in parallel. In other words, the load resistor goes across the light bulb connections, between the supply and ground and draws power away from the bulb. This causes the circuit to believe there is a normal bulb being used and nothing has failed.

Check online for load resistors for automotive LED bulb installation.

Take a look for this information online and let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe
