I’m going to be replacing my filler neck and I just didn’t know if anyone could give me a step by step procedure for this with pictures of bolt locations and such. I’ve been looking online and haven’t found much. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Interestingly, there isn't much of anything regarding the filler tube. What I did find is an exploded view to at least give you an idea of what to expect.

First, if you open the filler door, there will be I believe 3 screws that hold the filler tube to the body. Remove them. Next, there will be a shield around the filler tube, so you will need to remove that so it can be used. The last thing you will need to do is unclamp the rubber hoses between the steel tube and tank. Then it will come off.

I circled the place to look for the screws to body and highlighted the bolts holding the shield on the tube.

Let me know if this helps. I can work through it if you run into trouble. I looked through two of the best repair manuals, and this is all I could find as far as pics. Sorry.

Let me know.

Joe

Thanks for your information Bud. Lastly my only question is, I’m guessing I have to remove the left rear fender shield to gain access to those bolts correct?

Hi,

I question if you need to. Before removing anything, craw under and see if you have access. I can't remember exactly on an 2001. Some you were able to access without.

Let me know what you find.
