Check to see if the valet function has been activated, should be a switch in the glove box. For the lid itself there are at least three ways I know of. If you have the hatchback version you flip the seats down, crawl in and on the trim panel you will see a small slot in a plastic cover. Pop that cover down and there will be a small cable that you pull to release the hatch. On the newer coupes there is a manual release hidden under the cupholder assembly. You pop the rubber inserts up, remove the screws and lift the assembly out. You will see a red loop handle, give it a good tug and the trunk should open. On the roadster it is in a small compartment behind the right seat. Once you get it open you can then test to see if the release signal is getting to the latch.
