While driving on the highway, the car just stopped and I could not start the car. Had the car towed to local mechanic. Per the mechanic the fan belt broke and the fan belt runs the AC as well as the alternator. Per the mechanic, he can fix the fan belt and the AC, but the alternator may also need replacement. After the mechanic replaces the fan belt, AC and alternator, the car may have transmission issues. He said they are all intertwined. Need advise. ASAP
Thank you.

Hello, I am Danny.

If the serpentine belt broke you would have known immediately because you would have lost power steering. With the alternator not charging the battery and fuel pump the car should have shut off quickly. Have a new serpentine belt put on and possibly a battery charge. There should be no reason to have everything replaced. Just the belt. And no, there would be no reason a transmission issue should have arisen. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions if needed. Thanks for using 2CarPros.
