Hi,
What you described sounds like a faulty crankshaft position sensor. When they begin to fail, they are adversely affected by heat. Once they cool, they start working again. Take a look through this link and let me know if it mirrors what you experience.

If that mirrors what you experience, here is what to do. When it won't start, we need to determine if there is spark to the plugs, or if there is an RPM signal. You mentioned there are no codes which is very possible for this sensor. So, if your scanner provides live data, check to see if there is an RPM signal when cranking and not starting.
Or, if you have a tachometer, see if it moves at all when cranking.
The last way we can check is to see if there is spark to the plugs. Here is a link that explains how to check:
