Intermittent issue, car drives fine, then suddenly stalls, then restarts and runs fine, then a little later stalls again. However, it has only happened a few times since we changed out the valve cover and valve cover gasket, which was 200 miles ago.

No check engine light.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon, if this just started since the gaskets were replaced, have you checked to make sure no vacuum hoses are damaged or disconnected?

Do me a favor. Take a look through this link and then check for leaks:

Let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe

So, we didn't check for vacuum leaks, but the stalling is really very intermittent, meaning not every other minute. Additionally, I spoke with a master "sonic" wrench, and he thinks there might be a tear in one or more of the coil pack sleeves which when hot or "bumped" would open and cause a short which in turn would cause the stall.

Anyway, tomorrow we will start diagnosing and looking for the problem.

Thanks,

Jon

So, here's an update- pulled the coil pack and, to my surprise, two of the packs had broken rubber/plastic sleeves, and it appeared they were broken inside! Bought a new pack and the car is running great.

Thanks for your interest and input,

Jon
