Just changed the motor oil and the motor lost power. The accelerator is sluggish. The engine is knocking. I added 3 liters of Lucas stop oil leak. Could that have contributed to the sluggish, engine knocking and poor performance? Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Why did you add so much Lucas additive?
Instructions say to add 1 quart, about 1 liter, to the new oil
So, you should have filled 7 liter 5W20 engine oil and 1 liter Lucas additive

A video:

As the additive is very thick you could have had an issue with low oil pressure on start up.
This could have caused the knocking by damaging the engine bearings
Could you provide us with a good video so that we can evaluate the knocking noise?

Cheers, Boris

Hello Boris, Thank you for your response. I'm a driver for my employer. I noticed a difference in performance and sound of the engine after the oil change. I just followed my boss's order to purchase and have the mechanic pour the Lucas in with the oil. I knew something was not going to be good, so I am writing to you. My boss is thinking of buying a rebuilt engine.

Hello,

A rebuild engine would be the most cost-effective solution to rectify the issue if there is bearing damage.

Cheers, Boris
