Engine issue

I have the XL. The check engine light has been flashing randomly, engine shaking, rpm moves up and down two or three times after I start it from being off for awhile, jerking around sixty mph. I do not know if this is related, but I have been hearing a popping or crackling sound in the dashboard behind steering wheel, dashboard A/C area. Thanks.

The noise may be related it may be a misfire, have it scanned for codes auto parts does for free then get back to us with the code. It may be a plug wire shorting out on engine block making the noise.
