After replacing the intake manifold, valve cover and exhaust manifold/turbo, the engine started right up sounds good, but I can only get 3,000 RPMs when gas is to the floor, let off the gas runs good. Almost like the turbo is kicking in. Also install a new air filter and oil and oil filter. After trying to figure this out by checking wires and hoses.

I have seen this problem when the turbo is no good, is it a new turbo, rebuilt used? The way you can tell if the turbo is good is to check the shaft endplay. Check out this guide and the diagrams below that show the correct way to install the turbo.

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

Could the Idle Air Control Motor IAC have been damaged when the intake manifold went bad, and I had to replace the vale cover? Since everything was bad, I pulled the exhaust just to see if it was okay. And the turbo was crack in a couple places near the waste gate, so I replaced it. The tachometer won't go past 3,000 RPMs.

Only different in drive moving when I give it gas it runs ruff still goes no higher 3,000 RPMs. Then engine light comes on but does not bring up a code that goes out when I get back to my garage after I shut it off and start it back up and let it idle for a while. Thanks again

When you did the work did you get all the ground wires back on the engine? It would help if you could upload a video of the engine running so I can see what's wrong. Does it seem like the engine is misfiring?

No, it doesn't. And I hooked up all the grounds. The only one that I took off was the one on the intake and it came with a new one and I connected both ends and I also ordered a Dorman fuel injection throttle body assembly it the only part I didn't replace. That I had to clean oil out of. After I install it tomorrow, I will let you know how it did one way or the other. And if no good I will also send you a video. Thanks for keeping in touch. Jim L.

I wish. Just pick up compression test kit today and the #s seems okay, all 4 cylinders read 210. Also bought a combustion leak detector turn blue to all most yellow I guess head gasket, head, or crack block all so notice coolant just let loose today at the water pump and if it's anything like my 2005 Chevy Aveo when the water pump went it made the engine jump time and blew a spark out the head and I had to put new threads in it still running that happen at 75,000 miles now it as of now it has all most 150,000 maybe time to change again. And this 2017 Chevrolet track has about 77,000 miles on it. And the 2nd plug from the right was the only one that wasn't tight. So, now I have to figure out what may be cheaper new or rebuilt engine or parts and repair. Myself or repair shop I know If I do it will be cheaper but will take longer and know if I do I, be pulling the motor. Are you busy HA HA well I guess you can't help me no more but thanks to you I know what is wrong. Thanks: Jim L.
