I have a new battery, new alternator, both have been checked and working properly. My battery gauge on dash continues to drop between 9-14. I've owned it for 3 years and has never done this before. Is there a fix for this? I also changed the 175 amp fuse that's between them. Continues to do it.

Hi,

The 14 is normal when running. The 9 indicates there is no charge from the alternator. Is there anything you can do to cause the gauge to drop like that? For example, a heavy electrical load on the system? Are you certain the alternator belt is tight and in good condition?

I want you to try a test. I need you to confirm that the voltage is dropping at the battery as well as on the gauge. Here is a link that explains how to check:

Let me know if you get the same readings at the battery as you do at the gauge. You will need a helper to do this.

Take care,
Joe
