I have a problem with emissions and fuel trim. I had engine light come on so had a friend look at diagnostics to tell me the fuel trim is lean. I was advised to try cleaning inlet manifold and EGR. I have done this to my best ability (2 days as I'm a noob) I have reset the management light and It has not been on since. But I am noticing slight sluggish acceleration and a slight judder. I have included a video of recent diagnostic if it helps. The eml did come on after a long motorway drive originally but hasn't come back on since cleaning.

Based on that video the o2 sensor is not telling you that it is lean. It should be switching back and forth like that. Basically the engine controller cannot keep the engine running perfectly all the time so it is constantly changing it to get it to switch between rich and lean. This means it is right on the sweet spot.

What was the actual code that you are getting and is there a reason they are saying it was running lean?

We don't have a manual on your vehicle because it is not offered here in the USA but I am sure we can try to figure this out as an engine is an engine.

Hi Simon,

What was the code that it had before you set it? if it's running sluggish with no light, I expect it will come back on, which will point us in a direction. Many things can be wrong for sluggishness. Here are a couple articles on evap/emissions systems and common causes for the light to come on:

Hi Simon,

It definitely wouldn't hurt to do a cleaning with spray injector cleaner into the throttle boot after the air cleaner. Check in there for any build up. The car will want to stall when doing it so having someone at the gas keeping it running while you spray into the air boot is best. There are a few parts in there to get clean so don't be shy about it. Running a bottle (not spray)through, in you next fuel tank fill up may help as well. But spraying cleaning the air induction for a hesitant response I've found to help more than not. All this is assuming the car isn't due for a regular tune up. Which if its due then getting that done before thinking you have some sort of bigger issue is a good idea.
Keep us posted.
Below I have posted a link to an article on Hesitation that might help out too.
