The drivers door will not unlock with the key fob or the power lock inside. I have reset the key fob and the door will lock but not unlock. I can here the actuator working when I lock it but nothing when I try to unlock. All other doors work properly.

What it sounds like is the door lock actuator is failing. It is usually a very common failure with power door locks. To replace it, the door latch assembly would need to be replaced. The manufacture does not make it very easy to replace. I will post a link to a Ford Escape door latch replacement if you would like to do the repair yourself. The hard part will be to transfer the parts over to the new latch. Here is a link for the latch replacement where you can follow the procedure since the door panel and outer door handle needs to be removed first:

Good luck and let us know if you performed the repair.

Okay, thank you. I will check out the video and see if I can do it. I have already got the cover of the door off.

Well the video is very good. I only found one part on the net and it is $50.00. So I am deciding if it is worth making the repair. Thank you very much and I will copy you if I make the repair.
