I would start by opening the left door, locating the door switch, then removing it. Before you unplug it, tie a string to the wires in case the plug falls down inside the pillar. That way it is an easy job to pull it back out later. Be careful to position that plug so it does not get crushed when the door is slammed closed. If the problem no longer occurs, I suspect that switch is self-adjusting and it became over-adjusted. Chrysler switches look similar but they do not have the rubber cap on them. Those are pretty easy to reset.
Also, look at the body line of the rear edge of the door to see if it sticks out more than about 1/16" from the body. If it does, adjust the striker to hold the door in more when it is closed.
