Does the in-tank electric fuel pump module fail suddenly or does it fail gradually?

Hi, I have the vehicle listed above SV, and this question concerns its in-tank electric fuel pump module. So, does this electric fuel pump module fail suddenly without any warning or does it fail gradually after first making a whining whirring noise and causes the engine to run unevenly or surge while holding the accelerator pedal steady? I heard that running the vehicle out of gasoline causes the electric fuel pump two electromagnetic poles, armature, impeller, rotor, and turbine pumping element to seize up as gasoline lubricates the above electric fuel pump parts but we always fill up the gas tank when the fuel gauge goes down to the middle of the gas tank so I am wondering how long will the electric fuel pump module last if I keep refilling the gas tank when it reaches the middle level and the electric fuel pump never starves for gasoline, I saw in the Advance Auto Parts website that an electric fuel pump module for the vehicle sells for over $500.00, so how much more than that price is a fair profit for a repair shop and how much do they mark it up? How much is the labor to take out the gas tank and install the new electric fuel pump module? Also, I can't find a fuel filter for this vehicle in Advance Auto Parts website. S, o does this car or automobile have a fuel filter and a fuel pressure regulator? Thank you in advance for your valuable information. Thank you very much
