Engine Performance problem
2005 Dodge SX 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 55k miles

The enginge will sputter when accelerating quickly (in frequently). it runs fine during this time when the peddle is part way down and idles fine. The engine light comes on. the problem stops when the car is turned off and then restarted. The engine light will also go off usually the next day after the car has been start a couple of times. It usually hapens later in the day. I do not drive it much (to and from work). I am in AK so the temp later in the day is not extreme but definitely hotter than in the morning (65 ish).

Check engine light:

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
