A fuse keeps blowing in my car. It is a 20 amp fuse for the ignition/run/start/ACC/fuel pump. The parts guy told me to check the inertia switch, I have no idea what that is. Do you have any ideas on what I can check. Thanks.

The miserable inertia switch is strictly a Ford thing. Chrysler's system is much more reliable and effective.

The place to start is by removing the Automatic Shutdown (ASD) relay. If the fuse no longer blows, the problem is on that circuit. Note that the relay only turns on for one second when you turn on the ignition switch, then it turns off, so if the short is on that circuit, the fuse is going to blow in that first second. Items on that circuit include the injectors, ignition coils, fuel pump or pump relay, alternator field, and oxygen sensor heaters.

If the fuse still blows when the ASD relay is removed, you'll need to find a fuse number or some other identifying information so I can find it in the service manual.
