2001 Dodge Ram OIL PRESSURE GAUGE

The needle on the oil gauge drops to 0 and the check gauge light comes on and bell sounds, then when I press on the gas the pressure goes up and light goes out. Let off the gas and happens again, so far I had the pressure switch replaced twice and I also had a new high performance oil pump put in, at idle I have now 10 lbs of pressure at idle and it is still happening. Driving me crazy. Hoping you might had a suggestion, my mechanics don't seem to know whats wrong.

Hi there,

Check the engine oil pressure with a master gauge. This will give you a true indication as to the oil pressure. If the pressure is ok then the problem will be in the electrics of the sender and gauge.
