The truck won't run steady, after a boost it will shut off, its not the starter or alternater?

Hello,

Ok, you say it won't stay running after you Jump Start it. Are you leaving the Jumper Cables on it and it dies or are you removing them and it shuts down.

Will it start/turn over without jumping it?

Have you had the Alternator Tested?

Also is engint light on?
