I made a Donation but did not get to ask question so here I go, car is losing power when going up hill, the more gas I give seems to decelerate pedal to the floor and it stutters reach top of hill and it is ok for a minute, also wants to die at stops. The code reader says P0016 showing as 2 different problems, when I scroll down the second says pending, ckp and cmp sensors correlation bank 1 sensor A. I replaced both of these sensors and code came back on after just 2 miles, and still aslight pop(backfire) type noise when It finally gets to 50 or so. Just basically hoping someone can elaborate on the whole meaning of the code for me as well as other things I might check. Thanks I am just trying to learn how to do things myself, Teri

Hi there,

thank you for the donation,

This code is in reference to the cam & crank Angle sensor, but first the backfire sounds like a lean mixture problem, may be a vacuum leak I would start looking for this first, do a full tuneup and do a code r set, let me know it anything alters after this.

Hi, and thank you I guess I should have said I changed plugs, wires, air filter, oil and pcv valve just prior to the sensors so yes problem still exists. I was hoping for a little more info on the code this is how the freeze frame data read
F sys1 cl-fault
F sys2 cl-fault
calc load% 0
ect (0*)
st ft b1 % -100.00
lt ft b1 % -100.00
hep any? Thanks Teri

The code reflects the readings gathered by the ECU from cam or crank sensor, these reference signals are used by the ECU to set ignition timing, injection timing and spray duration for any given engine condition, if the signal is out of the set parameters it will st a fault code, from past experience this has often been the crank angle sensor, an aftermarket sensor is fine to use, I would be replacing this first.
