My old engine over heated blew a head gasket and I got another engine with 40,000 miles on it put it in
and engine still over heats. Could it be a clogged radiator? With other engine we had put stop leak in
several times! If it is can I get the stop leak out and how? Has new waterpump, t/stat andhoses.
please help.

It is possible tha you clogged the radiator with stop leak. You would have to replace it.

Now does the cooling fan work?

The fans work great!
What happens is while idle it overheats the while giving gas it goes down!
Same goes while I drive the car, any help would be great.

OK, is the radiator boiling over or is the gauge showing over heating? If it is the guage that is showing over heating if you can either with a scan tool that can monitor the engine sensors or an infared heat gun check the actual engine temp.

If the temp is normal then you most likely have a short somewere.
