In Hot or Warm Weather the car jerks

I have a 1998 Dodge Intrepid with 2.7 V6. It's got about 135K on it and I bought the car when it had 65K.

Since I bought the car it jerks while i'm driving and it seems to happen only during warm to hot weather. Mostly at speeds over 55MPH. Just recently it started happening again, but this time it did it even at speeds of 25-30MPH and then at a light it stalled. I popped the car into neutral and turned it on again and it started. I drove it that same night again when the outside temperature had dropped and I had no problems with it.

Is this problem related to my overall engine temperature or the transmission? I have no idea. Need some help on this.[/B]

I had last changed the tranny fluid in Jan. Of '06. I had a complete tranny fluid exchange done. Even after that, over the summer of '06, I still faced the same problem.

The check engine light does come on. It was checked out during my motor vehicle inspection and 2 codes came up. One was for a misfire in the engine and the other for my catalytic converter.
I had the misfire in the engine taken care of by getting a tune up done. The catalytic converter still remains as I have not yet replaced it. Please bare in mind that I had this problem even prior to the check engine light coming on. This is why i'm at a loss for what it could be.

I will have the temp sensors checked though. Thank you for the suggestion.
