2003 Dodge Intrepid Computer Problems

When hooking the computer up to check what the codes are froma Check Engine light, I receive the following errors P0700 & P1776.

When I reset the computer the car drives fine until the engine light appears again.

I know that the transmission is stuck in Limp Mode, but could this be a CPU problem

Yes, but the transmission controller is fused and relay controlled. So try a scan of just the transmission CPU(TCM) and see if it is powered up. A bus or communication error from it could trip the check engine lamp. A bad fuse could cause this, under the hood in the power center also.
