2000 Dodge Intrepid trunk button

When I press my trunk button on the dash, the trunk does not unlock.

Usually the electric latch connector or the latch switch goes bad. You can use a 12 volt test lamp to check that there is input to the switch and a change when the button is pressed. If that checks ok, go get a replacement switch or latch. If the button doesn't change the latch's inputs at all first check the fuses then bring it to a shop for service.
