What happens when the output sensor goes out?

When you lose your output sensor input to the transmission control module the TCM does not recieve any return signal and if it happens for more than a predetermined time it turns its power into a 2nd gear only mode called limp-in- mode. You will only have 2nd gear and reverse drive gears. Ok
