Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

94 intrepid/base model/3.3L.
when I turn the ignition the starter doesn't turn over, turn ignition for a second time and it might turn over once. Usually on the 3rd or 4th try the starter works properly and the engine fires up. I think I need a new starter but is there anything else that might be causing this problem? Electrical components?

It does sound like a starter. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power to the smaller wire on the starter (when it doesn't work). If you are getting 12+ volts, replace the starter.
