We had this issue with our 1993 (edit note, I had the wrong year, it is not a 2003) Dodge Intrepid 3.3 Liter V6 when we first got the vehicle about 4-5 years ago. (We got the vehicle as a freebie from FIL who got it used from someone else.) We replaced the fuel pump first (which was a PITA) but that didn't fix the problem. Finally took it to a dealer and they told us it was the crankshaft positioning sensor. Once that was replaced that took care of our issues. (We now have other issues that I will post elsewhere.) It was about $250 USD to have it replaced, that included labor, parts, and the fee it cost us to have it towed to the dealer since it would not start.
