I took my Durango to get a Texas state inspection. During the inspection it could not be completed because the check engine light came on during the test. PO301 and PO425 were the codes. The mechanic checked the problem with the misfire, by looking at the spark plug, connector and coil. A compression test was done and read 120 for #1 and 200 for #2 and 3. He told me it could be the injector or a broken cylinder whatever. Could cost me $4500. They said they could try to clean it $294 and see if that helps. They told me told drive it around long distance to cycle the computer they cleared. I drove it around and the light came back on and again misfire #1. Also I checked and the cracked vac hose was not fixed after discovery by mechanic. Are there any other steps that can be taken that are not as drastic as opening up the engine $$. I have been told to get another opinion. Thanks

Hi
yes would get another opinion. If compression readings correct you have a likely valve problem in cyl 1. A 10% difference in readings is allowed. Have engine compression checked at another shop.
Let me know
Thanks for donate

Thank you! Could the broken vac hose have anything to do with cylinder trouble or are they unrelated?

It would if vac line was on Cyl 1 runner. If it is off throttle body then would effect all cyl. But would not account for low compression
