My abs and brake lights both recently came on, 2 days after my brakes were visually inspected by a trusted mechanic (a cousin who happens to be a mechanic). I have no speedometer until I hit 40 km/h, once it's there, it works perfectly. The same is true on deceleration. You go from 60 to 50 to 40 to 0. The problem exists whether it's in d, 2, or 1. And it doesn't change if you turn the overdrive off. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the sensor on top of the differential Test with an ohm meter it should be between 1600 and 2300 ohms if not replace it, if it is, you next step is to have the code(s) read at a garage that can scan it, or you will start throwing money away!

It's called the rear wheel speed sensor, look on the very top of the differential for electrical wires, it will take you right to it.

I think you should drive to autozone, have them scan the codes, they do it for free, post all codes here. That will give me a better idea about the speedometer.
